The role of adiposity in the association of branched-chain amino acids and metabolic and clinical markers in healthy adults on controlled diets.
In healthy adults on controlled diets, branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) were positively associated with adiposity, markers of inflammation, insulin resistance, and satiety hormone leptin. These findings support the hypothesis that BCAAs are part of a metabolic signature of obesity.
