City of Seattle Farm to Table Design Project
In this project students worked with the Seattle Human Services Department and Farm to Table program leadership (both at the City and with Farmstand Local Foods) in order to learn more from program participants about:
- How the participating community defines “healthy food” and “healthy food access” in childcare and afterschool environments,
- How the participating community would define a successful, equitable, and culturally minded food access program in these settings, and
- What activities and supports are needed to achieve healthy food access in childcare and afterschool programs.
The results from this project will be used to inform Farm to Table program design, food access policy making, funding allocations, and other future programming, activities, and evaluation.
This project was completed in NUTR 531: Public Health Nutrition Project.
