New website highlights food systems experts and educational opportunities across UW

A new Food Systems at UW website has been launched to provide a central resource hub of people, organizations, and educational opportunities related to food systems at UW.

The website was initiated by the UW Food Systems Education and Research Network, and this network aims to:

  • Bring together UW experts from multiple disciplines to address food systems challenges, from local to global.
  • Incubate ideas and partnerships that lead to innovative food systems research and educational initiatives at UW. at local and global levels.

The website includes a directory of this expanding network. The network was first convened at a workshop in Autumn 2020 coordinated by faculty who specialize in food systems within the UW School of Public Health in the Nutritional Sciences Program, together with the Population Health Initiative. A second workshop is being planned for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Visit the website to explore, and contact ismaca@uw.edu to be added to the directory or request details about the next workshop and other opportunities to engage.
