The following requirements reflect the curriculum for students who enrolled in the MPH program in Autumn 2016 for reference and advising purposes.

GCPD Students: Management Requirement: Make arrangements with GCPD to complete Management in Nutrition Services course (if an approved course was not completed previously).[f]
Supervised Practice/Practice Experience: The timing of this 3 week rotation varies depending on the sites. It generally occurs in late August or early September.
Non-GCPD Students: Fieldwork activities may begin during summer quarter.

Notes

[a] Timing of NUTR 596 Capstone/700 Thesis Credits: With the exception of the required 1 credit (1st year spring quarter) and 2 credits (2nd year autumn quarter), students may distribute the remaining NUTR 596 or NUTR 700 credits as best fits their schedule.

[b] MPH Fieldwork (NUTR 532):
MPH students who are not in the GCPD complete two fieldwork rotations (2 credits of NUTR 532). Both credits may be taken in the 2nd autumn quarter as shown on the typical schedule or the credits may be completed in separate quarters.
MPH/GCPD students complete 1 credit of NUTR 532. The equivalent of the second fieldwork is completed during the GCPD internship and is documented on the transcript as NUTR 561.

Additional GCPD Curriculum Notes:

[c] NUTR 561: For the 30 credits of GCPD Practice experience, students register through PCE (Professional and Continuing Education) which does not have tuition distinction for tiers or residency.

[d] Practicum: GCPD student complete the required MPH Practicum during the GCPD internship and the credits are documented on the transcript as NUTR 561.

[e] Electives: GCPD courses satisfy the 3 elective credits required for the MPH degree.

[f] Students with DPD Verification Statement: GCPD students holding a DPD verification statement waive out of Food Safety (NUTR 545) and the Management in Nutrition Services course.
